Mars and More Mars ~ 18 Aug 2022

Curious about Mars and his upcoming transit in Gemini and the accompanying retrograde? Above is a composite photo, not of the drought-stricken southwestern region of the United States, but of Mars, taken from the Curiosity spacecraft. Feeling the curious urge to farm potatoes (Matt Damon in The Martian reference)? Regardless, here’s some data and things to do that Mars in Gemini will love.

Mars minuets into Gemini this next Saturday, 20 August. There he remains for what seems like an eternity. He does not pass through Cancer’s ingress portal until 25 March 2023. The reason for the lengthy duration is his rare retrogradation. Factually, Mars is second least likely planet to retrograde (behind Venus). From 1700 - 2050 Mars reverses his steps only 9.485% of the time.

Coming up, just in time for Trick or Treat, on 30 October, Mars retrogrades just short of an opposition to the Galactic Center. The red planet remains in reverse mode until 12 January 2023, when he pivots to the prograde, signaling a needed end to any lingering New Years Blues. In the middle of the retrograde, he aligns with the Earth by conjunction and the Sun by opposition. Withing this retrograde, the aspects geometrically occur on 7 December, a most infamous day.

During his dual duties in Gemini, Mars opposes the Great Attractor three times and the Galactic Center once. More will be posted about these transits as they unfold. More relevant to the immediate, in the early days of his twinship tenure, Mars aspects a series of black holes, many with unique periods and x-ray emanations. A summary of some of the more unique periods and energies follows.

26 Aug: Mars to 3U 0838-45 at 03 Virgo 43, multiple periods, P = 8.79 d, eclipse 1.7d

27 Aug: Mars to 3U 1653+35 at 04 Sag 26, P = 16.5 d

28 Aug: Mars to 3U 1617-15 at 05 Sag 11, P = 1.7 d, P = 34.8 d, pulse = 1.24 sec

01 Sept: Mars to 3U 0900-40 at 07 Virgo 22, P = 8.95 d, pulse = 283 sec

01 Sept: Mars to KY TrA at 07 Sag 36, P = 0.0288 d, pulse = 7.98 sec

Despite Mercury now following the furrows in Virgo, this might read like too much information that cannot be properly or easily assimilated. So, let’s break down some elements.

For purposes of Mars’ current activity, he thinks a week is somewhere between 8.8 and 9.0 days in length. This reframed week ensures that tasks continue to be tended until completion with no regard for the “work week.” Just short of twice that cycle, once every sixteen and a half days, review what’s been done versus what still needs to be done, factored against adjustments needed suggested by what remains outstanding. Make a revised to-do list scheduled for the next nine days. This list fits into a “monthly” review of tasks engaged, completed and pending every 35 days.

The x-ray pulses emanating from these black holes indicate the duration of conscious attention required by any new thought to ensure it receives proper development. Hugely notable here is the x-ray pulse of 283 seconds, or four minutes, forty-three seconds. To infuse a new thought form fully into consciousness, nearly five minutes of dedicated thought must be applied. Dedicated thought sans distraction. This is not easy given that blips to the attention radar crop in every few seconds courtesy of other pulses. The key is to jot down blip thoughts while attending to the key concept seeking your full attention. Quick side bar keyword notes work. Remain attentive to incoming insights for at least five minutes. If it takes longer, it takes longer. Then, the thoughts will be absorbed and not lost or forgotten. When done with a major download, move one of the sidebar notes forward and attend to it for as long as it takes to move the thought from latent to cogent.

While processing incoming thoughts, every forty-two minutes (actually 41.47 minutes), step back from tasks at hand a brief mental reset. Sip whatever infused beverage may be on your work station, and verify that all side bar thoughts properly migrated into the main concept flow in progress.

All this processing might require adjustment. Most of the mnemonic retooling is breaking free of the constraints of seconds, minutes, hours and days and recognizing that galactic inspirations operate on their own organic cycles that do not necessarily fit the structures humans have developed to construct time against the demands of inspiration.

Here’s another thing, too. On 28 August, Mercury and Psyche align in early Libra, conjunct the supermassive black hole known as the Super Galactic Center that keeps our galaxy in the mix with more than thirty other galaxies around this common gravitational nucleus. This transit means your dreams count, too. Park your Moleskein notebook or scratch pad on your night stand. For a couple of days here, what happens during your dream state seeks to highlight incoming cosmic insights. When you wake up from a dream, write down whatever insights or random thoughts you have. Force yourself. You’ll be glad you did.

For those reading this post who claim math impairment or simply an irresistible urge to tune out when confronting number and pesky information details, here’s a looser template.

Between 24 August (or starting now) and through the first week of September, consider a work week to be nine days long. During the days of this window, any new idea deserves a dedicated five minutes of your attention. A check-in of work in progress is ideal every sixteen days or so.

After the first week of September, feel free to revert to whatever your normal new idea mental and work processes might be... unless you’ve taken a liking to any of the new cycles engaged.

Mars in Gemini does oppose (and square) a heap of galactic gizmos. All these entities are like gyroscopes seeking to align your awareness spin and applied energy into perfect alignment with larger forces. It’s a huge Universe out there fraught with more insight and inspirations than there are sticks to shake at them.

Mars’ upcoming Gemini stint has no interest in pulling you hither and yon, disrupting your efforts, or contradicting your beliefs. It only seeks to remind you to be like an empty dish ready to receive cosmic dollops with the greatest of gratitude. Who knows what will come to be known while Mars transits Gemini? It could be a plethora of progressive insights. From under our noses to the grandest of Universal insights, the implications are that profound insights are at hand. Here’s to profound prestidigitation!

Much of this post addresses a planet enduring great galactic stimulation. A week or so ago, I did an interview with a galactically curious astrology, Ellie Adams of Austin, TX. She’s one of the good ones and was good enough to transcribe our conversation for your reading pleasure. Click here to enjoy this galactic conversation!
